New stairs or a new colour
Wooden staircase painting in Novi Sad
We paint new wooden stairs and repaint existing staircases. We help you choose shades that suit your interior, prepare the surfaces and apply the finish.
We work on site without dismantling or transporting the staircase. Before starting, we protect the floors, walls and furniture. If the stairs are badly worn or damaged, we first assess the repairs needed before painting.

New stairs: preparing for the first finish
After installation, we check surfaces and joints, remove excess filler, sand uneven areas and repair chips and dents. Stairs used during building work may also need cleaning. The amount of preparation depends on their condition.
Existing stairs: renewing the colour
We check the old coating, remove poorly bonded layers and repair damage before preparing the surface for the chosen paint. You can keep the existing colour combination or choose a new one to suit a renovated interior.

Opaque paint creates an even colour and allows contrasting shades. If you want to keep the wood grain visible, we can discuss varnish or a wax-oil finish. Suitability and preparation depend on the timber and the existing coating.

Project story
A new staircase that needed repairs before painting
On this project, we were asked to paint a newly built staircase. First, we removed excess filler, levelled the joints, repaired chips and dents, and sealed the junctions with the walls. We then painted the staircase and the space beneath it. The complete job took three days.

How much does wooden stair painting cost?
Labour for a simple, straight wooden staircase painted in one colour starts at RSD 50,000. The final cost depends on size, balustrades, surface condition, preparation and the chosen finish. Materials are paid for separately against receipts.
The stairs have been unfinished for two years. Can you paint them straight away?
We assess their condition first. Exposed wood may be dirty, stained or damaged, so it can need preparation similar to restoration work. Being new does not necessarily mean a staircase is ready to paint.
Do you need to dismantle the staircase?
No. We prepare and finish the staircase on site. We cover surrounding surfaces and use vacuum extraction during sanding. Access to the stairs needs to be restricted during the work.
Can the treads and balustrade be different colours?
Yes. We help you choose a combination that suits your interior. Colour advice and a simple visualisation on your photo are included in the work. More complex modelling is agreed and charged separately. We agree the final colours before painting.
How long does the work take, and when can I use the stairs?
Most jobs take three to five days, depending on the work, preparation and finish. Using the stairs during the work is strongly discouraged. First use and full curing times depend on the chosen product; we explain the care instructions after finishing.
What photos do you need for an estimate?
Send around five photos: an overall view, the treads, balustrade, joints and close-ups of damage. Include your town and the result you want. A short video also helps.
